Focal Extenders

A focal extender is a lens or combination of lenses that increase the distance between the telescope's primary mirror and the  eyepiece. This increased distance effectively increases the size of the telescope's aperture, which results in increased light-gathering power. This can be useful for two reasons: first, it can allow you to obtain a higher magnification; and second, it can improve the resolution of the telescope.
